Black Friday My friends at the Foundation for Economic Education did some digging about the origin of the reference to “Black Friday” (Why Is Black Friday Called Black Friday?). Even though there are several stories about where the term “Black Friday” came from, for me it simply means, “Stay away from all the crazy people and take advantage of a nice quiet weekend.”
